Don Hertzfeld makes animated shorts with the best laughs-per-minute ratio I have ever experienced. And it’s all about the timing.
As silly as it sounds, I purchased a DVD containing a 10-minute short (and not much else) without even thinking about it. Rejected is just that good. Pretty much the entire thing takes up residence in your brain and you will never, ever look at a spoon the same way again.
One of these days, there will be a DVD of all Don’s films. I will be very happy when that occurs—my stomach will be very sore.
Don also teamed up with Mike Judge to produce the Animation Show. Is a very cool festival and a very cool DVD filled with the kinds of things you never see in movie theatres.
